Gary Tyler Ewen, affectionately known as “Bubba,” passed away on June 5, 2026, in Elgin, Illinois, at the age of 37. His passing has left family, friends, and all who knew him deeply saddened, as they reflect on a life remembered for kindness, warmth, and genuine love for others.
Born on July 6, 1988, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois, Gary lived a life defined by sincerity, compassion, and a spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a devoted son, cherished family member, and loyal friend whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and light into the lives of those around him.
Gary attended Lake Park High School, graduating in 2006, where he built friendships and experiences that remained meaningful throughout his life. His time there helped shape his character and laid the foundation for the values he carried into adulthood.
He found joy and expression through his passions for football, art, music, and writing. Whether following the game, creating something meaningful, singing, or putting his thoughts into words, Gary expressed himself with heart and creativity. These passions reflected both his energetic personality and his thoughtful, reflective nature.
Family was central to Gary’s life. He shared strong and lasting bonds with his loved ones, including Jon (Kathy), Tina, Jeffery, Nicholas (Candice), RaeAnn (Claudia), Tanner, and Athena. Each relationship held deep meaning, and his presence within the family circle was one of love, support, and connection.
Gary will be remembered for his kindness, his faith, and the genuine way he treated others. He had a natural ability to make people feel valued and understood, leaving behind memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Prayer Service at 4:15 PM at Bucaro Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 485 W. Army Trail Rd, Bloomingdale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Church in Bloomingdale.
